Estate Planning

Estates

Estate Planning  is the act of planning for the disposition of one’s worldly goods, care of children, and other issues in the event of death.  The most common example of this type of estate planning is the writing of wills and trusts.  However, a complete picture also includes advice regarding property which will pass to a decedent’s heirs outside of a will, such as real estate and life insurance.

It is also the act of planning for the care of oneself in the event of serious illness and/or incapacity. It includes creating and executing advance directives such as Living Wills and Powers of Attorney of various types.

Planning for these events in our futures can be difficult, distressing and downright painful.  However, making these plans now will save family members considerable anguish in the event of serious illness or death.  It will save them from having to make major decisions during times of extreme worry and grief.  In many instances, it will also save them time, money and the expense involved in probate litigation.

Estate planning is problem-solving in advance.  I offer personalized service in these matters and I look forward to working with you to put your mind at ease about your family’s future.
